Venturing
past the gates of Ospralia you'll find neighbor George and his Blueberry farm
(and other fruits grown on the premises) where you can pick your own basket
or pick one up from George. Just a little further down the road, the rustic
Nandua Crab Company where, if your own crab trap needs a few more hours until
harvest, you can pick up the days catch - soft shells or jumbo lump - from
the bay to you within minutes. Just a few minutes further is a Crawfish farm,
in case your ettouffe is a little shy.
A short
and beautiful trip on the Chesapeake, around to the next neck and you'll arrive
at the Yacht and Country Club. A round of golf or elegant dining awaits your
docking. Around the next neck and you'll arrive at the marina in historic
Onancock.
If you
need a different body of water to play in/on, the town of Wachapreague and
the Atlantic ocean are only a 15 minute drive from Ospralia.
Of course there is so much to be seen and experience, but to list all would
be impractical for you the reader, so the links below focus on the nearest
town, the historic Onancock VA - from live theater, the Eastern Shore Symphony,
museums, and historic sites to antique shops, quaint cafe's and the marina.
But keep in mind Chincoteague is only 40 minutes away, the same for VA Beach
with Norfolk not far beyond. .
